Overview

Prashar Lake is situated at 9000ft. , surrounded by the Dhauladhar ranges in Kullu Valley   known for the three story Pagoda style Temple of Prashar Rishi and its floating island.

The trek follows a charming trail through a forest, lush meadows and several water streams. Prashar lake is said to have been discovered by the Pandavas (from the epic Mahabharata). One can also experience the local culture as the trail goes through small Himachali villages.  A visit to Prashar will be a perfect mix of spiritual journey and exploration into the serene Himalayan Ranges.

What is included in the tour

  • Tents on twin/triple sharing basis ( double sharing for couples on request )

  • Freshen facilities in Panarsa.  

  •  4 Veg meals starting from breakfast on Day 1 to breakfast on Day 2 (Nutritious, high-calorie food will be served )  

  • Transfers in shared cab ( Panarsa to Panarsa ) Certified guide, cook and camp helpers

  •  Camping equipment like – tents, sleeping bags, toilet tents and mattress

What is NOT included in the tour

 

  • Travel expenses ( Delhi - Panarsai - Delhi ) - can be arranged on request at additional cost.  

  • Anything not mentioned in inclusions will cost you the respective amount

  •  Any expenses of personal nature like phone calls etc.

  • Any food and accommodation in towns

  • Cost of porters etc. have to be borne directly. 

  • Cost Escalation due to "Force Majeure" and evacuation charges

    Notes: 

     Prashar Lake is accessible by road now and hardly any trek anymore. If you are a novice but looking for a proper trekking experience then we suggest you go for Beas Kund trek in the same (Himachal) region.

Itinerary

Day 01 Panarsa >> Jwalapur >> Prashar Lake (8 km Trek)

  • All the trekkers meet at Panarsa where you can freshen up in the transit guesthouse. 

  • After breakfast, we move straight away to Jwalapur ( 25kms ) 

  • Upon reaching the base camp, trek to Prashar Lake for around 8 Kms.Packed lunch with a view of the waterfall on the way.  

  • Most part of the trek is through lush green forests, along a stream with numerous waterfalls enroute. 

  • As we reach the top you see Alpine meadows and the magnificent lake on your left. 

  • Visit the Prashar Rishi Temple, take blessings & make new wishes to the deity.

  • Spend some time at the lake & capture the Himalayan Silhouette during sunset

  • There are a couple of local dhabba's n shops around Lake where you can grab hot tea or a quick bites. 

  • Overnight stay and stargazing at the lakeside campsite Snacks + Dinner (Bonfire if possible / if Allowed)

 

Day 02:  Prashar lake >> Jwalapur >> Panarsa (8 Km Trek)

  • Enjoy the sunrise Photography with 360 panoramic view of the mighty Himalayas

  • From these hills you can have clear shots of the Himalayan Ranges , snow covered Dhauladhar Ranges + Bada Bhangal in the West, Great Himalayan National Park and Deo Tibba in the East

  • After having breakfast with the view of the Lake we trek back to our trailhead Jwalapur Village (~8km)

  • Transfer to Panarsa(25 Km) in shared cab 

  • Upon reaching, freshen up at the guesthouse and prep up for onward and final journey to Delhi.
