Overview

Perched at a convenient height of 6831 feet, McleodGanj is the seat of the in-exile Tibetan refugee population. Lovingly called ‘Little Lhasa’ - it is a lively suburb in Dharamshala (Dhauladhar ranges). It is very famous for housing His Holiness The Dalai Lama’s residence in the Tsuglagkhang complex in the main town square and the bustling markets.

Approximately 2 hours away from there lies the small town of Bir in the Joginder Nagar Valley. Primarily a Tibetan refugee settlement, Bir is a tasteful melange of ecotourism, spiritualism, and adventure. Asia’s highest paragliding take of site Billing is a mere ride away from the main town of Bir. The town also houses scores of tea estates, artistic monasteries, and a wide landing site peppered with homely and bohemian cafes.
