Itinerary

Detailed Itinerary:
 

Day 1: Cochin to Munnar

 

Arrive in Cochin (Kochi), a vibrant city known for its historical significance and cultural heritage.

Meet and greet by a local guide/driver at the airport/railway station.

Start your journey towards Munnar, a picturesque hill station nestled amidst the Western Ghats.

Enroute, visit the Cheeyappara and Valara waterfalls for a refreshing break.

Check-in at the hotel in Munnar and rest for the day.

In the evening, you can take a leisurely stroll around the hotel or explore the nearby areas.

 

Day 2: Munnar Local Sightseeing

 

After breakfast, embark on a full-day sightseeing tour of Munnar.

Visit the Mattupetty Dam, a beautiful reservoir surrounded by lush tea gardens.

Explore the Echo Point, where your voice echoes back to you.

Proceed to the Kundala Lake and take a relaxing boat ride.

Visit the Top Station, offering panoramic views of the Western Ghats and the neighboring state of Tamil Nadu.

In the afternoon, visit the Eravikulam National Park, famous for the endangered Nilgiri Tahr (mountain goat).

Return to the hotel in Munnar and unwind for the day.

 

Day 3: Munnar to Alleppey (Alappuzha)

 

After breakfast, depart for Alleppey, known as the "Venice of the East" for its intricate network of backwaters, lagoons, and canals.

Check-in to a houseboat for a memorable overnight cruise through the serene backwaters of Alleppey.

Experience the traditional Kerala cuisine served on board while enjoying the enchanting views of the countryside.

Spend a relaxing evening on the houseboat, witnessing the sunset over the tranquil waters.

 

Day 4: Alleppey to Varkala

 

After a delicious breakfast on the houseboat, disembark and head to Varkala, a beautiful coastal town known for its stunning cliffs and pristine beaches.

On arrival, check-in at the hotel/resort in Varkala.

Spend the rest of the day at leisure, relaxing on the beach or exploring the charming cliffside with numerous cafes and shops.

 

Day 5: Varkala Leisure Day

 

Enjoy a leisurely day in Varkala.

Visit the famous Varkala Beach, renowned for its red cliffs and natural springs.

You can also visit the Janardanaswamy Temple, a 2000-year-old Hindu temple located near the beach.

Take a dip in the mineral-rich waters of Varkala's Papanasam Beach, believed to wash away sins according to local beliefs.

Explore the local markets and try some delicious seafood at the beachside shacks.

Optionally, you can also indulge in Ayurvedic spa treatments for relaxation.

 

Day 6: Varkala to Cochin

 

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive back to Cochin.

Depending on your departure time, you can explore Cochin's major attractions, including the Fort Kochi area, St. Francis Church, Chinese Fishing Nets, and the Jewish Synagogue.

Enjoy some last-minute shopping for souvenirs in the local markets.

Finally, head to Cochin Airport/Railway Station for your onward journey, marking the end of a memorable trip.
