Itinerary

DAY 1 | GUWAHATI – CHERRAPUNJI | 170 kms – 5 hours

We pick you up from Guwahati airport and hand over the bikes. Gear up and start your journey to Cherrapunjee. Relax overnight and have dinner at the pre-booked hotel.

 

DAY 2 | CHERRAPUNJI – SHILLONG | 60 kms – 2 hours

After the breakfast, check out of the hotel and visit for local sightseeing in Cherrapunji. Get riding to Shillong. Overnight stay and dinner at the hotel in Shillong.

DOUBLE DECKER LIVING ROOT BRIDGE- Deep in the dense tropical forest of Meghalaya and shrouded in cloud and rain for much of the year, are some astonishing man-made natural wonders. Known as living root bridge, the members of the Khasi tribe have trained them to grow.

MAWSMAI CAVES- The Caves of Meghalaya comprise a large number of caves in the Jain, Khasi Hills and Garo Hills districts in the Indian state of Meghalaya and are amongst the longest caves in the world.

NOHKALIKAI FALLS- Nohkalikai Falls is the tallest plunge waterfall in India. It is situated at a height of 1115 feet.

ECO PARK- The Eco Park has been designed by the Meghalaya government to facilitate tourist to enjoy the 'Green Canyons” of Sohra as well as the waterfalls that lie around it.

THANGKHARANG PARK- Situated at a distance of 12 km from Cherrapunjee - the source of Kynrem Falls lies in this park. This park provides ample prospects for travellers to revel in the panoramic view of the moorish plains of Bangladesh far ahead.

 

DAY 3 | SHILLONG – KAZIRANGA | 253 kms – 5 hours

After breakfast, check out of the Hotel and proceed for Shillong Local Sightseeing. In the afternoon, ride to Kaziranga- the home of the "One Horned Rhinoceros". Check into the hotel. Overnight stay and dinner at the hotel in Kaziranga.

WARD'S LAKE- This artificial water body is encircled by an extensive lush garden and lies in the middle of the city. Take a walk around this horse-shoe shaped lake on the cobble-stone path and simply admire the colorful floral beds in the garden.

DON BOSCO MUSEUM- Don Bosco Center for Indigenous Cultures or DBCIC is an exclusive endeavor by the Salesians of Don Bosco to develop a facility for the conservation and preservation of a small number of local cultures of the area, in India, as well as in conjunction with local cultures anywhere else in the world.

GOLF COURSE- Shillong Golf Course is the of the highest golf course in the country. It houses a full fledged eighteen-hole spread across the most beautiful location. Some of the most prominent figures of the British history have swung their clubs at this course some sixty years  and shall continue to be a destiny for major golfing events to this date. Known for its scenic views, Shillong Golf Course also holds the distinction of being the wettest golf course on earth.

CATHEDRAL CHURCH- The Cathedral Church at Laitumkhrah, Shillong, is one of the most elegant churches. The church has the throne of the Bishop and hence referred to as Cathedral Church. This historical shrine of peace and sanctity is designed in the Gothic architectural style with high arches and stained glass windows.

ELEPHANT FALLS- Elephant Falls is situated in the outskirts of the main city of Shillong. It is 12 kms away from the city chaos. The unique part of these falls is it is a two-tier waterfall set in the dingles of the rocks.

SHILLONG PEAK- It stands massively 2000m above the sea level. It is one of the highest points in the state which offers a breathtaking bird's eye view of the entire city. The highest point of Shillong is a hillock that stands at 1965 meters above sea level.

 

DAY 4 | KAZIRANGA TO DIRANG | 247 kms – 7 hours

Early morning, leave to spot Rhinos by Jeep or Elephant Safari. Post breakfast, start your ride to Dirang. En-route, visit Tipi Orchidarium which is a glass house with over 7500 Orchids. Overnight stay and dinner at the Hotel in Dirang.

 

DAY 5 | DIRANG – TAWANG | 143 kms – 7 hours

After viewing the beautiful valley of Dirang containing the river and inhabited by colorful tribes, proceed towards the Sela Pass (13700 ft ) and spend some time by the paradise lake. Reach Tawang by evening and stay overnight and have dinner at the hotel.

DIRANG DZONG- Dirang Dzong or Dirang fort was built in the 17th century to protect Bomdila from the neighboring states. In fact during the infamous Vietnam War, the fort was used as a jail and in world war period, this fort was used as a shelter.

SELA PASS- A high altitude mountain pass Se-La, with La denoting Pass is a must visit. Located in Tawang District of Arunachal Pradesh, Sela Pass is located at an elevation of 4,170 meters and you can experience a slice of heaven on Earth here. It's cool temperature and adrenaline height is simply spellbounding.

HOT WATER SPRING- A visit to the hot water spring on the road to Tawang from Dirang is a relaxing and rejuvenating experience. The water is rich in sulphur, which makes it rich in medicinal purpose. Thus, it can cure you from all types of diseases.

KALACHAKRA GOMPA- Kalachakra is a 500 year old monastery in Arunachal Pradesh, which makes it famous for the tourist attraction in the state. The monastery is situated in a village of the same name. It is a beautiful monastery with mosaic work. Buddhist monks and pilgrims are locally seen visiting this sacred place.

 

DAY 6 | TAWANG LOCAL SIGHTSEEING

After breakfast, visit 400 year (17th century) old Tawang Monastery which is the second largest monastery in the world after Potala Palace in Tibet. The dimension of the building is about 113 feet long and 80 feet wide. Overnight stay and dinner at the hotel in Tawang.

TSO LAKE- Pankang Teng Tso Lake is another attention to visit in Arunachal Pradesh. This lake is also known as P.T. Tso is one of the most interesting lakes surrounded by the brilliance and beauty of Mother Nature. A popular tourist attraction on Pankang Teng Tso Lake is indeed, especially for and interesting places around. Going to Pankang Teng Tso lake takes a nice 17 kilometres road trip amidst white backdrop.

TAWANG WAR MEMORIAL- A great pit stop enroute to Tawang would be the Jaswantgarh war memorial located at Nuranang which is about 25 kms from Tawang. This war memorial is set in scenic terrain just below the Sela pass commemorates the bravery of the martyred Indian soldiers of the 1962 Indo-China war.

 

DAY 7 | TAWANG – BOMDILA | 172 kms – 6 hours

Early morning, drive to Jang to get a breathtaking view of the waterfalls. Pay homage at the Jashwant Garh Indo Chinese War Memorial and proceed for the downhill drive (185km, 7hr) to Bomdila. Overnight stay and dinner at the Hotel in Bomdila.

 

DAY 8 | BOMDILA – TEZPUR | 154 kms - 5 hours

After a delightful breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Tezpur. Check-in to the hotel. Rest of the day is free at leisure. Overnight dinner and stay at the hotel in Tezpur.

BOMDILA MONASTERY- Bombdila monastery was built in 1965 on of the TsonaGontse Rinpoche and was rebuilt by the thirteenth reincarnation, TsonaGontseRinponche renovated the monastery by building a larger prayer hall. Inside the Gompa, there's a huge prayer, which is used by the lamas for praying; the temple of Buddha, and quarter of monks. Apart from its religious significance, the monastery is also known for its natural and scenic beauty. Stunning vistas which you can see from here are fabulous and breathtaking.

APPLE ORCHARD- Apple Orchards is a popular tourist attraction located in Tipi, Bomdila and it is Asia's largest Orchidarium. If you want to plunge into a nice pleasant weather amidst its soothing environs then you can meander along the Bomdila's Apple Orchards which is an experience in itself. As Bomdila is situated 8000 feet above the sea level it makes a perfect place for holiday and cool climate for the apples to blossom. Besides, Bomdila itself is a famous place amongst the tourists and the views of the garden will definitely fascinate people. The orchards have huge trees with red apple fruit' blooming which ultimately makes it look like nature's most beautiful gardens and a visit to Arunachal is incomplete if you do not visit the Apple Orchids of Bomdila in Arunachal Pradesh.

 

DAY 9 | TEZPUR - GUWAHATI | 204 kms – 4 hours

After breakfast, check out from the hotel & transfer to Guwahati . On arrival, check-in to the hotel. Rest of the day is for leisure. Spend overnight at the hotel.

MAHABHAIRAV TEMPLE-  Mahabhairav Temple is located at a hillock on the northern part of Tezpur town. The temple is believed to have been established by King Bana. This Shiva temple was originally built of stone but the present one was renovated and built with concrete.

AGNIGRAHA- Agnigarh is a hill on the banks of the Brahmaputra which is one of the big tourist attractions in Tezpur. There is a circular stairway following up to the crest of the hill.

CHITRALEKHA UDAYAN- Cole Park, Tezpur is a very picturesque park near the centre of Tezpur. It has been renamed as Chitralekha Udyan although both names are synonymous.

 

DAY 10 | Departure from GUWAHATI AIRPORT

Check out from the hotel and get transferred to Guwahati Airport to bid adieu each other.
