Turquoise blue paradise

Pangong lake, also called Pangong Tso, this is a high grassland lake. It is situated at a height of 14270 ft. in the Himalayas in the disputed territory between China and India. The route to this lake passes through the third highest motorable pass in the world. Despite being a saline water lake it freezes during the winters. Because of the salt content this lake does not support any vegetation or aquatic life. There are a lot of migratory birds like Brahmani ducks, rare black necked cranes and seagulls that can be seen here too. Being a remote area the only way to communicate with the outside world from here is through satellite phones. The lake’s glittering beauty hypnotizes all those who visit it. The only way to wholly experience this unique beauty is to go on a Pangong lake camp.

The camps are well equipped and furnished with amenities to allow a comfortable stay. This is an adventurous experience which involves in engaging with treks around the lake as well as witnessing the beautiful scenery of the lake with the mountains in the background as the water changes hues during the sunsets.
