About Pawna Lake:

Pawna lake is an artificial lake brimming with flora and fauna. The reservoir was formed due to the construction of Pavana Dam in 1973 in Maval Taluka.
The Lake is situated at a 60 Km, 120 Km from Pune ( Via Kamshet) and Mumbai (Via Lonavala, Bhangarwadi Road) respectively. Due to pawna lake’s proximity from Lonavala hill station and other popular adventure getaways like Lohagad and Tung, tourists have flocked towards it as an escape from daily routine and city mundane life.
The drive to Pawna lake from Pune and Mumbai is also filled with glimpses of green forests and pockets of fresh air taking away the fatigue from regular day to day life.
While camping over there you can easily see people around you cheering and enjoying this marvel of human creation.
Camping here is on the bucket list of every outdoor enthusiast, camping in the middle of nowhere surrounded by water and nature whilst enjoying delicious barbeque around the bonfire and forgetting about all you worry while watching the shimmering stars in the clear sky away from the city crowd.

Itinerary

Day 1 | Arrival at the Campsite

- Arrive at the campsite by afternoon, and check-in by 4:00 PM. As you reach, explore around the vicinity and embrace the mesmerizing view of the lake. 

- In the evening, settle down with a cup of tea and mouth-watering pakodas

You can also indulge in boating that is included in the package

- Enjoy the unlimited dinner at the camp with BBQ, while enjoying the beautiful evening amongst your peers. You have the whole night and place to explore and gaze at the stars for as long as you want. 

- Have a good night's sleep.

Day 2 | Departure 

- Wake up at ease and enjoy the beautiful sunrise as you step out of your tent. 

- Your breakfast will be served around 9 AM until then you can explore the area around the lake. 

- After freshening up, check-out from the campsite and continue towards your home with a bag full of memories!

How to reach Pawna Lake?

One can reach Pawna Lake through these public transports:
-Take the express train from Mumbai to reach Lonavala, once there you can book a jeep and reach the lake which is 17 - 20 km from there.
-Take a local train from Pune to reach Kamshet, once there you can book a jeep and reach the lake which is 17 - 20 km from there.
Jeeps can be availed from Lonavala and Kamshet at around ₹100 per person.

Boating at Pawna Lake

Boating can be a pretty exhilarating experience itself but the boating at pawna lake provides you much more than that. Once you get into the boat you'll start feeling the adrenaline rush within but also a serene feeling will swoop you in when you between the lake surrounded by water and lush greenery around you and this gets better as we provide this boating experience in our package at free of cost.

Sightseeing at Pawna Dam

Being one of the largest artificial water body in Maharashtra the surroundings around Pawna Dam is full of rich flora and fauna with a lot of opportunities for nature lovers. Once you reach your campsite and relieve yourselves after snacks and refreshments, you can leave the camp and stroll around to look at how nature has blessed this place. This place is full of various species of plants you might have never seen before and while you enjoy exploring the wild the cool breeze from the pawna lake keeps you refreshed for a night full of adventures and memories.

Paragliding at Pawna Lake

Paragliding is of the most sought after activities at Pawna lake. This enthralling experience gives you an opportunity to roar in the skies while watching the sunset on the horizon with a mesmerizing view of pawna lake.

Dudhiware Waterfall (10 Kms/30 Mins)

Dubhiware Waterfall is a seasonal waterfall that is at peak during Monsoon season when it starts raining. The waterfall falls from a hight of 135 ft originating from a rock structure. The trek to here is relatively easy as one reaches the top within 10 minutes on a plane walk. It is generally advised to wear trekking shoes as it gets really slippery during the rainy season. This waterfall is home to various adventure activities like rappelling, ziplining which one can avail through the local vendors based around the waterfall.

Tung Fort (24 Kms/1 Hr)

The fort is conical and consists of strongly fortified walls, ramparts and also has several bastions. It has steep climbs with a very narrow route on the edge of the mountain throughout. The fort premise also has a rocky staircase that opens to a water cistern. A steep climb on grassy slopes leads to the ruins of a temple at the summit. The forts of Korigad, Tikona, Visapur, and Lohagad can be clearly viewed from the top of Tung Fort.

Tungi is the base village for the Tung Fort trek. The village of Tungi is located around 300 m from the entrance of the fort. Presently the fort is bounded by water on three sides as a result of the construction of the Pawna dam. One can also reach the base village Tungi from Pawna dam by boat. From Pawna dam, reaching this fort entrance requires a 400-meter climb. It takes 1 hour to reach the top of the fort from the base. 

Peb Fort (108 Kms/2.5 Hrs)

It is assumed that this fort derived its name Peb from the 'Goddess Pebi' at the base of the fort. Historical references indicate that Shivaji Maharaj used the caves on the fort as silos for grain storage. Near to this cave are meditation caverns, which are underground. One has to crawl into these and only one man can enter at one time. In monsoon two of these are filled with water. On the top, you can go climbing the wall of the fort. The main attraction here is the bastion on the topmost part. This faces the mountain of Matheran. Here you can see the ridge connecting mountains of Matheran and Peb. When you stand here you feel to be at the top of the world. 

Visapur Fort (20 Kms/1 Hr)

Built During 1713-1720 by Balaji Vishwanath, the first Peshwa of the Maratha Empire is a hill fort near Visapur village in Maharashtra. Situated at around 20 Kms from Pawna Lake Camping site this fort provides a perfect destination to visit during your travel to Pawna Lake.

Visapur Fort is larger and situated at a higher elevation to its fort twin "Lohagad Fort". This Fort houses caves, cisterns of water, decorated arches and old houses. Here you can also spot Queen Elizabeth's Gun which is a 10 feet guns probably extracted from a British ship by Maratha navy.

The Trek to the fort is relatively easy and offers mesmerizing views of lush green valleys, waterfalls, and architectural marvels of the Maratha empire. 

Lohagad Fort (20 Kms/1 Hr)

The name "Lohagad" literally means the "Iron Fortress" and the fort has earned this name for its reputation. This fort has a long history of being occupied by various dynasties through the centuries and is currently a protected site by the government due to its rich heritage and architecture.

Situated at an elevation of 3,389 ft the fort provides for an amazing experience for trekkers and hikers, being an easy trek this is particularly suitable for beginners. The path of the trek provides for a mesmerizing view with the lush green forest around you with views of a clear sky.
