15 Sept: Arrivel LEH
Arrival at Leh Airport, transfer to the Hotel. Rest for the an entire day in order to acclimatize.
Overnight stay at Leh.
16 Sept: LEH
After breakfast, head out for sightseeing to visit the 100-year-old Alchi monastery, the only Gompa in Ladakh region on flat ground. Thereafter, proceed to the Likir Monastery to visit the splendid Dharma Wheel Gompa. Here you'll be awestruck by the sight of the massive Buddha statues, Indus & Zanskar River Sangam, drive along the Indus river visiting Pathar Sahib Gurdwara and Magnetic Hill, Basgo Palace Hiking only and further on to Leh Hall of Fame (which has a museum of the Kargil War memorabilia) Overnight stay at the hotel.
17 Sept: LEH TO NUBRA
Today, you take the road to the highest accessible motorable pass in the world – Khardung-La - at 18,380 feet. In spite of the altitude, today you ride on some of the smoothest roads so far. After rejoicing Khardung-La pass, you descend into the dramatically different landscape of the Nubra valley.
18 Sept: NUBRA TO PANGONG
Today we will be taking one of the most uncommon routes in Ladakh area via Shyok village which has recently been opened up for the tourists. While riding you will definitely enjoy the scenic views of the mountains. This route is also known for its waterfalls.
19 Sept: PANGONG TO TSO MORIRI
Early departure for Tsomoriri Lake (alt: 15,000 ft.) driving through Chumathang (hot springs), Mahe and Puga Sumdo. Tsomoriri Lake (28 km long & about 8 km wide) is the breeding ground of many migratory birds including the rare bar-headed geese. Dinner & overnight in fixed camp or Guest House.
20 Sept: TSO MORIRI TO LEH
After breakfast retrace the route down to Puga Sumdo and then follow the road across the Polokongka Pass (4920 meters) to visit Tsokar Lake, a salt lake system in the Rupsho plateau which is home of the Changa nomads and supports many rare wildlife species. After sightseeing of the area take the Manali-Leh road to return to Leh, crossing Taglang-la (alt: 17,585ft) en- route. Arrive hotel in Leh for dinner and overnight.
21 Sept: LEH
After breakfast, drive to Leh and visit the Thiksey and Shey village, rancho school. On reaching Leh, transfer to the hotel and free for leisure time. Dinner and stay at the hotel.
22 Sept: LEH
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed to the Airport.
